Key Features

  • Material: Low Carbon Steel
  • Finish: Zinc coated for corrosion resistance
  • Dimensions: 6 mm diameter pins
  • Function: Designed to break under a specific load to protect the snow blower's auger and gearbox from damage
  • Includes matching locknuts for a secure fit

Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • 303160355P
  • 303160355

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Brand: PowerSmart
  • Fits all PowerSmart two-stage snow blower models

When to Replace

  • Replace immediately after a pin has sheared or broken
  • A broken pin is indicated when the auger assembly no longer rotates while the engine is running
  • Pins typically break when the auger strikes a hard object such as a rock, curb, or thick ice
  • Keep spare pins on hand to minimize equipment downtime

Installation Tips

  • For safety, stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire before servicing
  • Align the hole on the auger shaft with the corresponding hole on the auger blade
  • Insert the shear pin completely through the aligned holes
  • Fasten the pin with the supplied locknut
  • Do not substitute with a standard hardware bolt, as this will prevent the protective shear action and can lead to severe gearbox damage
