Compatibility & Fitment

  • Connects a device with a 50 Amp NEMA SS2-50P plug to a 30 Amp NEMA L14-30R outlet
  • Ideal for connecting a 50A RV, boat shore power, or manual transfer switch inlet to a 30A portable generator outlet
  • Note: This adapter facilitates a physical connection only. It does not alter voltage or increase amperage. The connected equipment's load must not exceed the 30A rating of the power source.

When to Replace

  • Visible damage to the cord jacket, such as cuts, deep abrasions, or cracks
  • Exposed internal wiring
  • Bent, corroded, or loose plug prongs or connector contacts
  • Signs of overheating, including discoloration or melted plastic at connection points
  • Failure of the locking mechanisms on either the plug or connector

Installation Tips

  • Ensure the power source is turned off before connecting or disconnecting the adapter
  • To connect the L14-30P plug, insert fully into the outlet and twist clockwise until it locks
  • To connect the SS2-50R connector, align with the inlet plug, push together, and twist clockwise to lock
  • Hand-tighten the threaded locking ring on the female connector for a secure connection
  • Verify that the total power draw of connected appliances does not exceed 30 Amps
  • Protect connections from direct exposure to water and physical strain
