Key Features
- 12V DC starter solenoid for riding lawn mowers and lawn tractors.
- 4-terminal design with two top 1/4-20 copper studs and two bottom 1/4-inch male spade terminals.
- Copper contact material and copper internal windings rated to 180°C.
- ABS plastic housing resists wear, impact, and common outdoor operating conditions.
- Minimum switching voltage: 12V DC.
- One solenoid included.

When to Replace
A failed starter solenoid can cause a no-crank condition, a click without starter engagement, intermittent starting, or no voltage reaching the starter. Common causes include worn contacts, corrosion, a weak connection, overload, or a short circuit. Inspect the battery, cables, terminals, and wiring before replacing the solenoid.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect the battery negative terminal before servicing to reduce the risk of an accidental short circuit.
- Photograph or label the wiring before removal and follow the tractor wiring diagram during installation.
- Match the two top stud connections and two bottom spade connections to the original layout. Incorrect wiring or reverse polarity can damage the component.
- Clean and tighten all connections. Poor connections, overload, and short circuits can cause premature failure.
- Installation generally takes a few minutes when the replacement matches the original bracket and terminal arrangement.
