When to Replace

  • The existing knob is cracked, broken, or severely worn from ground contact.
  • The line-feeding mechanism fails to activate when tapped.
  • The knob no longer threads securely onto the spool.

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect the spark plug before performing any maintenance.
  • Unscrew the old knob from the trimmer head. Note that some models may have reverse threading.
  • Remove the spring from the old knob and place it into the new one.
  • Thread the new knob onto the spool assembly until it is hand-tight.
