When to Replace
Replace the recoil starter when the rope is dirty, cracked, frayed, or no longer retracts correctly. Replacement is also appropriate when the spring has sprung or slid out, the engine will not crank for ignition, the handle is difficult to pull, or the starter produces unusual noises.
Installation Tips
- Switch off the blower and allow the engine to cool before beginning service.
- Remove the existing starter and compare its mounting-hole spacing, dimensions, and part number with this assembly.
- Install the replacement starter squarely, fit the supplied screws, and tighten them evenly.
- Confirm that the rope retracts smoothly and that the pawl engages correctly before operating the blower.
