Compatibility & Fitment

This control knob assembly fits Weber Summit 400 and 600 Series grills manufactured in 2012 and later, including models 2880001, 291001, 291101, 292101, 293001, 293101, 294001, 294101, 297001, 297101, and 298001. Confirm the shaft diameter and knob measurements before ordering, especially when replacing knobs on a different production version.

When to Replace

Replace a control knob when the rubberized grip has deteriorated, heavy oil or grease cannot be removed, or the knob is melted, warped, cracked, or otherwise damaged. Identification markings that have worn away can also make control selection more difficult and indicate that replacement is appropriate.

Installation Tips

  • Remove the old knob from the control shaft and check that the shaft is clean and undamaged.
  • Align the D-shaped opening with the flat on the 5/16-inch shaft.
  • Apply a small amount of liquid soap or similar lubricant to the valve stem if the new knob is difficult to install.
  • Press the knob into place until it is fully seated. Installation typically takes about one minute.
  • Turn the control through its range to verify smooth operation before using the grill.
