Verify the engine application, part number, and two-terminal configuration before purchase. Four-terminal versions and other terminal layouts are not compatible with this two-terminal relay.
When to Replace
Replace the starter solenoid when the mower will not crank, the starter receives no power, or starting is intermittent after the battery and wiring have been checked. Worn or corroded internal contacts, loose terminals, short circuits, overloads, and poor electrical connections can cause clicking, no-crank conditions, arcing, or relay failure.
Installation Tips
- Replacement normally takes a few minutes when the existing wiring and mounting access are clear.
- Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal and the spark plug wire before beginning work.
- Confirm the two-stud layout and follow the mower wiring diagram. Connect the battery and starter wires to the correct terminals.
- Keep copper strands insulated and tighten all electrical connections securely to reduce arcing and power loss.
- Do not operate the relay with a short circuit, overload, reverse polarity, or loose connection, as these conditions can cause burnout.
