C5-2 Feed Trimmer Head

When to Replace

  • Visible cracks or significant damage to the main housing
  • Bump knob is worn and no longer advances the line
  • Line eyelets are worn through, causing frequent line breakage
  • Internal spool or spring mechanism is broken or fails to operate

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect the spark plug wire before beginning any maintenance
  • Use the appropriate tool to lock the trimmer gearbox to prevent rotation
  • Unscrew the old trimmer head by turning it clockwise (note reverse threading)
  • Screw the new head on counter-clockwise until it is hand-tight
  • Remove the gearbox locking tool before starting the engine
