- For reference, may be comparable to parts designated as SAE J1508 Type TB or similar industrial clamp standards.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Fits hoses and pipes with an outer diameter between 44mm and 50mm.
- Commonly used for 1.5" inner diameter silicone or rubber hoses in forced induction systems.
- Verify the outer diameter of your hose assembly before ordering to ensure correct fitment.
- Suitable Applications:Automotive: Turbocharger charge pipes, intercoolers, coolant lines, and exhaust systems.Industrial: Hydraulic lines, material transfer hoses, and high-pressure ducting.Marine: Engine coolant, exhaust, and plumbing connections.Household: High-pressure plumbing, pool and spa lines.
When to Replace
- Existing clamp shows visible signs of rust or corrosion.
- Bolt or nut threads are stripped, preventing proper tightening.
- The clamp band is cracked, bent, or permanently deformed.
- Leakage of fluid or air is present at the hose connection.
- The clamp fails to maintain consistent sealing pressure after being torqued.
Installation Tips
- Clean the hose and pipe surfaces before installation to ensure a clean seal.
- Slide the clamp over the hose and position it behind the bead of the pipe fitting.
- Ensure the floating bridge is correctly aligned over the gap in the band.
- Tighten the nut with a socket or wrench. Do not overtighten.
- After initial installation and several heat cycles, check the nut for proper tightness as materials can compress and settle.
