Description

1.5" T-Bolt Hose Clamps

Key Features

  • Construction: 304 Stainless Steel band and T-bolt for corrosion resistance.
  • Design: T-bolt mechanism provides high, uniform sealing pressure for reliable connections.
  • Band: Features a 0.75" (19mm) wide band with beveled edges to prevent hose damage.
  • Hardware: Includes a durable steel T-bolt and a nylon insert self-locking nut.
  • Mechanism: A floating bridge component ensures even clamping force around the entire hose circumference.

Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • SAE Size #28
  • Banjo TC193

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Application: Designed for 1.5" nominal hose connections in high-pressure or high-vibration environments such as coolant lines, air intakes, and turbocharger systems.
  • Effective Clamping Range: Please measure your hose's outside diameter (O.D.) to ensure a proper fit. Common ranges for this size include:
  • 1.57" - 1.69" (40mm - 43mm)
  • 1.73" - 2.00" (44mm - 51mm)
  • 1.93" - 2.18" (49mm - 55mm)

When to Replace

  • Visible signs of rust, corrosion, or pitting on the existing clamp.
  • The bolt or nut is stripped, preventing proper tightening.
  • Persistent leaks or drips at the hose connection point.
  • The clamp band is bent, cracked, or deformed.
  • During routine replacement of hoses or connected components.

Installation Tips

  • Ensure the hose and fitting surfaces are clean, dry, and free of oil or debris before installation.
  • Position the clamp over the section of the hose that covers the fitting's barb.
  • Tighten the nut evenly until a secure, leak-proof seal is achieved.
  • Do not overtighten, as this can damage the hose or the clamp threads. Adhere to torque specifications if available (typically up to 75-125 in-lbs).
  • After several heat cycles, re-check the clamp's tightness as hose materials may compress and settle.
