Installation Tips

  • Ensure the engine is off and cool to the touch before starting service.
  • Clean the area around the air filter housing before opening to prevent debris from entering the carburetor.
  • Apply a light coat of clean engine oil to the new oil filter's gasket before installation.
  • Hand-tighten the oil filter until the gasket makes contact, then tighten an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Do not over-tighten.
  • After installation, run the engine for a few minutes, then check and top off the engine oil level as needed.
