When to Replace

  • When existing shoes are worn thin, cracked, or broken.
  • If the auger housing or shave plate makes direct contact with the ground.
  • When uneven wear causes the snowblower to pull to one side.
  • As preventative maintenance to protect the scraper blade and housing from damage.

Installation Tips

  • Ensure the snowblower is on a flat, level surface and the engine is off before installation.
  • Replace both skid shoes at the same time to ensure level operation.
  • Adjust the shoe height to set the proper clearance between the shave plate and the ground.
  • For smooth, paved surfaces, set a minimal clearance of approximately 1/8 inch.
  • For uneven or gravel surfaces, increase the clearance to prevent scooping up stones.
