Compatibility & Fitment

Fits a wide range of dryer models from major brands including Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, KitchenAid, Roper, Estate, and Inglis. Verify compatibility by checking your appliance's model number and original part number.

When to Replace

A failed thermal fuse can cause one or more of the following symptoms:
  • Dryer will not start.
  • Dryer tumbles but does not produce heat.
  • Dryer takes too long to dry clothes.
  • Dryer overheats.
  • Dryer shuts off mid-cycle.

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect the dryer from its power source before beginning any repair.
  • Use a multimeter to test the existing fuse for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates the fuse is blown and needs replacement.
  • A blown thermal fuse is often caused by a blocked exhaust vent. Before replacing the fuse, inspect and thoroughly clean the dryer's entire venting system, from the lint trap to the exterior vent outlet.
  • This is a safety component. If the replacement fuse also fails, identify and correct the underlying overheating issue before operating the dryer again.
